We loved the way Jeff Davis and his staff took our hand drawn house plans and turned them into a home. Jeff visited our site to see what our land was like to help him with additional design insights. Our plans were developed without an architect, thanks to the skills of their in-house CAD designers and Jeff’s creative input. The plans were revised efficiently via electronic file transfer – our comments sent to Davis Frame by inserting comments in an Adobe Acrobat version of the plans, followed by a quick turnaround back to us with revisions. The Davis Frame Company was so easy to deal with, with most of the communication efficiently directed through our project coordinator. Our coordinator was always just a phone call or email away and saw to it that all our questions were answered no matter how small or large or technical. The quality of the Douglas Fir timbers is remarkable, with no twisting and minimal checking over time. We built the house as a vacation home with plans to move in full time for retirement in several years – but we love the house so much we moved in after it was completed!

I'm so glad that we "took the plunge" and contacted Davis Frame back in 2005 to begin the process of building this home. We had thought about it and poured through magazines literally for decades, but it was a little scary to think about getting back into the world of mortgage payments and selling our home of 32 years. Everyone at Davis Frame was supportive and helpful, from the receptionist to the designers to the project manager. When I phoned with questions, you found the answers quickly; you led us through all the steps systematically, and you were very good at telling us what to expect, whether it was in financing or in coordinating multiple contractors or in complying with our own state and local building codes. Beyond all that, you have been unfailingly friendly and patient, and I have come to count you all among my friends.

"The floors are Brazilian Koa, and the arched doors are from New Mexico, Spanish Pueblo. Our doors are made from Douglas Fir and the lights in the Great Room (4) and the 1 in the Foyer are custom made for the house from an artist in New Mexico. Chris Patch [Davis Frame Production Manager] was helpful, as he chamfered the foyer beam specifically for the light and was able to send the artist the exact dimensions so the great room lights fit perfectly in the space. The railing around the balcony is custom made/forged by a local iron smith. Can you tell that I LOVE our house?"
