Barn Style and Barn Homes: What are They?
Centuries-old timber frame and post and beam barns are so handsome and sturdy that it’s increasingly common to see them painstakingly refurbished and converted into beautiful homes. Our Classic Barn Series reflects the spirit of these traditional structures and lets you achieve a similar aesthetic in any location. Many of our barn style homes feature a cupola which gives a timber frame home the traditional barn look.
Because the barn style floor plans are pre-designed, choosing one of our handsome Classic Barn Homes reduces some of the costs typically associated with building a timber frame, and can get you into your dream home faster - for about 20-30% less than a custom designed timber frame home. Our barn style homes are available in a wide range of sizes and styles, all our Classic Barn Homes are flexible in floor plan design and can be built exactly to the original specifications or customized to meet your needs. To feature the clean and simple lines of barn homes, three types of common rafter frames are used in our Classic Barn Home line: principal purlin, ridge beam and collar tie. 
Davis Frame will provide you with one of our pre-designed timber frame designs or help you create a custom design the post and beam barn home that you have always dreamed of. We will provide a barn kit which will include your timber frame, insulated wall panels and provide you with options for the remainder of the exterior shell package such as windows and doors.
